In this scenario a client may typically have worked on modelling a disease and require several steps to be automated such as compound screening, growing an organism,
or investigation into trending of how tissues form or function.
In many cases the number of variables involved can be overwhelming. We offer several unique ways of formulating a method (including scripting), so if the client were only interested in a particular mutation we may be able to increase the potency of the target through cost effective exhaustive testing in order to get to phase 1 testing quickly.
Standard laboratory HPLC equipment is designed for ease of manual use, it has limitations such as the inability to accurately regulate the mobile phase temperature consistantly (our systems can heat, cool or even cycle as part of the method thereby not restricting the testing to the minimal range of a column oven) and we can adapt our systems to integrate with your existing HPLC pump (like program a pressure ramp via RS232) or autosampler (like program a backpressure ramp) and add the same temperature control and unique barcode identification to a sample storage medium such as a vialling carousel.
Cell cultures may only be stable for a short window of time so swift loading from labware to pipetting onto assay plates by liquid handling stations is critical.
Tissue cultures may require delicate and precise handling - difficult and laborious todo by manual methods. Robot resolution is capable to thousandths of a mm.
All actions are logged in LIMS/Sql (not just basic values such as retention time results) and its sometimes possible to reduce or eliminate the manual monitoring for changes over the coming days or weeks if the usual chromatogram analysis can be supplemented by a multiwavelength vision inspection system which may be as simple as using cost effective USB camera's, or loading onto a balance for periodic weighing.
Whatever the sensing method, we are able to adapt the monitoring software to look for trends realtime and alert an operator to the relative point of interest at the earliest stage.
Automated Technologies have helped several companies with device testing and prototype design and because low cost at this stage is important we can help procure grant funding which typically covers 20% of our costs to client.
Many laboratories only use their equipment during normal daytime working hours. By utilising low cost automation overnight or off peak we can effectively
increase the throughput without sacrificing quality. The payback on our systems due to the extended (overnight and weekend / holidays) use of equipment
can be as low as a few months but the real benefit is in increasing the capacity to find that elusive hit.
As machine developers our greatest asset is our flexibility and adaptability, and our experience with finding new innovative unique and novel ways for finding targets. Automation is faster but need not be expensive. Its also flexible, such as our small footprint autosampler that fits in fume hood, 3D barcoding technologies, or our low cost gamma and beta radiation detection sensors.
We can design the optimal process throughput by working closely together with you to help identify potential hits by closing the analysis loop, intelligently feeding back output data such as that from image analysis to drive the compound addition, reagent preperation, incubation parameters or other key variables, allowing us to tune over time and home in quickly to identify the most likely target candidates.
